Was that misogyny, or simply greed and contempt on Timmy's part I wonder? I keep hearing and seeing all kinds of embarrassingly stupid bigotry pretty much everywhere these days.
If this story were written 35-40 years ago I'd call it dystopian cyberpunk, but these days it's hardly even a noir treatment of the present, is it?
My guess would be that's it's kind of a stew of misogyny, Luddism, and the inability of Timmy III to see his little baby sister anything other than, well... his little baby sister...
BTW, this story takes place in 2017 - but I guess one year isn't enough to make something a period piece. ;-)
Considering he already thinks so little of Bettina and seems to generally have control of Timmy's ToyCo, I'm starting to wonder if the Maerc mercenaries hanging around are even something Timmy wants: Muggings and shakedowns don't only happen in alleyways.

Yes, this is supposed to be that Lena! And me and lirvilas (the artist formerly known as Chippewa Ghost) are using very different color palettes, so her hair color appearing different isn't all that surprising.
