Just got to push these out, not in the home stretch but I can see it from here.

Yep, that happens when the grittiness of the LIR-verse comes into contact with the more silly concepts of my own comic.

Oh, Wendell... you obviously do not know the creepy-ass power of toy soldiers, especially amassed and marching without any obvious controls.

Of course, I just watched Barbarella for the first time last night, so I'm not exactly unbiased when it comes to toys being creepy. Those fucking dolls, man...

I am currently reading E.T.A. Hoffmann's The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, which is the work that - I think now I can reveal it - the Drosselmeyer Protocol is a reference to. (Also spelled "Drosselmeier", or "Droßelmeier" in the original German version.)
And yep, an army of toy soldiers going into battle is indeed a part of that story!

I think I know the places they're programmed to stick those bayonets, but I'd prefer to be wrong for my own sanity

Eh, Neil, this is a cooperative joint with Microraptor, so no, we're not going anywhere skeezy with this. Stand by for something... different. You will appreciate it, however!

Congrats: I don't have any reaction to this besides calling it entertainment.

*starts munching tortillas & home made genuinely spicy salsa, offers some*

Entertainment is kinda what toys are for!
(Though there is usually less bayonet-stabbing involved.)
