Bettina doesn't realize it yet of course, but it seems that she just did a major step to ensuring the employees' loyalty for when she ascends the throne becomes the CEO...
@MR: This is why during the incursion into her European facility her people kept resisting against hopeless odds... most hired corporate help won't do that. This observation has not escaped certain people in that business.
As an amorally, ruthless killer it's still easy to see stray neutrals/unidentified as potential hostiles in this situation. At least these goons probably won't stop to rape anybody until the main mission objective is complete, and perhaps not even then.
This. This right here is the sort of thing that made me fall in love with your work, sir.
Previous to this page in Volume 3, I was very, very fond of your work (a fondness which, I will admit as an extended series of communiques drew our comics into a connected tapestry). But that page made me fall in love with the LIRverse and all of its possibilities.
It could be the extreme tiredness talking (I hesitate to use the word "exhaustion" for fear of appearing hyperbolic), but Tiny's speech here damn near brought a tear to my eye.
Forgive me if this sounds a bit inappropriate after your heartfelt laudation of lirv's work (which he well deserves!) - but the first sentence of your comment so reminds me of that one part in Bohemian Rhapsody...
@Prof: yeah total exhaustion is a helluva way to spend one's days... I don't recommend it. However, for me it opens a doublewide garage door to my muse, which is good, because I had very little idea of what was going on this page when I sat down to do it.
TL;DR: Keep them eyes WIDE OPEN
@MR: Yeah, there had to be some sort of character development in this story to make it worthwhile. We'll wrap up Bettina's development in the final few pages, which may have to come after Christmas. (Total length is probably 60-70 page now, got 3 more scenes to go.)
@ lirv: I see the old plot kudzu has taken this from what was supposed to be, what, like 20 pages, into a now 60-70 page thing. Not a LIR Volume length, but the comic equivalent of a novella, perhaps?
I am finding AB Season 2 doing something similar, mostly due to Bishop [REDACTED] and the introduction of a major way in the season to [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. :P
stirring speechplausible excuse to disobey those orders to kill Debby in accounting.
