If you think about it, Augustus Alexander and Bettina Timmy bonding makes quite sense...

For example, Bettina isn't very happy with her brother making deals with Elliot Maerc.
And as for Alexander's relationship to Maerc... let's just say that someone crippling you via a crash-landing military drone isn't exactly likely to result in "the begin of a wonderful friendship"...
